Manchester United to demand over world record fee for star player
Hands off
Manchester United will demand a world-record fee for a goalkeeper if Real Madrid come calling for David De Gea in the summer.
The Spaniard has been a long-term target for the club in recent windows and nearly moved if not for paperwork issues the other year.
Now, Los Blancos may come back in for the player and United will demand a world-record fee for a goalkeeper if so.
Continuously impressing, De Gea has become one of, if not the best goalkeepers in the English top flight.
The current world record fee for a goalkeeper is £33m in which Juventus paid for Gianluigi Buffon.
United reportedly want double that, with £66m roughly their asking price.
It is yet to be seen whether Real Madrid would pay that but it is safe to say we have not heard the last of this.
Competition
Manchester United will face strong competition from Bayern Munich for the signature of Antoine Griezmann.
The German club are actually now thought to be in the drivers seat for the player.
Griezmann has impressed yet again for Atletico Madrid and could well make a big move this summer.
