- The Blues are looking to bolster their defense with Ryan Bertrand and Virgil Van Dijk

- The Italain manager wants his side to challenge in Europe and England next season

Chelsea are interested in bringing back former players Romelu Lukaku and Ryan Bertrand in the summer, a report by the Sun claims.

The Blues are also looking at the possibility of signing Arsenal star Alexis Sanchez and defender Virgil van Dijk as Antonio Conte looks to challenge in Europe and domestically next season.

The aim for the Blues next season is to reach the latter stages of the Champions League and challenge for glory after missing out last term.

The Telegraph reports that the Blues are interested in Alexis Sanchez and former striker Romelu Lukaku while the Evening Standard report that Chelsea are looking to sign Southampton pair Virgil van Dijk and Ryan Bertrand, a former player at the club.

It is also believed that John Terry is set to sign a new one-year deal at the club, after Conte declared his admiration for the Blues captain.

Terry is 36-years-old and the Blues believe he does not have much to offer on the pitch in the future hence the need to sign Van Dijk.

Sanchez is yet to sign a new deal at Arsenal and with his contract expiring in 2018, a deal could be easily struck.

Van Dijk, currently out with an ankle injury at the moment is still of interest with the Blues.
